What is GENEius University Screening Week
GENEius university screening week is a new campus-focused initiative. Its goal is to raise awareness of Jewish genetic disorders (JGDs) amongst Jewish university students, and provide them with free and convenient JGD carrier screening.
Getting Screened During GENEius University Screening Week
During GENEius University Screening Week, students are able to take part in free carrier screening for 9 of the most severe JGDs from the comfort of their own home. They can do this by booking a virtual appointment available during the following times:
Mon 23 Nov – 1700-2100
Tue 24 Nov – 1700-2100
Wed 25 Nov – 1300-1700
Thurs 26 Nov – 1700-2100
Sun 29 Nov – 1300-1700
Tue 24 Nov – 1700-2100
Wed 25 Nov – 1300-1700
Thurs 26 Nov – 1700-2100
Sun 29 Nov – 1300-1700
What does participation in GENEius University Screening Week involve?
Taking part is free, quick and convenient:
- SIGN UP ONLINE - choose a time slot for your virtual appointment and fill out the registration form
- RECEIVE SCREENING PACK – receive a pack in the post with everything you need for screening including your saliva kit
- VIDEO CALL – have a video call with a trained volunteer to run through key information and then provide your saliva sample
- POST PACK TO JNETICS - post your competed kit and forms back to Jnetics
- RESULTS – receive results up to 16 weeks later via email from our NHS dedicated genetic counsellor
